Female Network Event Planning
Share
Planning an event was so much harder than I thought it would be.
There are so many things that you need to run through that I never knew, any event planners out there reading this, I salute you.
I am in the midst of planning my wedding and figured well, how hard could it all be.
My first hiccup was the venue, I had no idea where to start, I had a vision but bringing it to life proved challenging, and I had budget constraints.
Once I found the venue though I thought here we go, I have a group of over 150 female founders who all wanted to network and chat and meet each other so what else could there be to do.
Do you KNOW how expensive food is at an event, I have since got a Costco membership and realised that I should. have done it myself but there we are, we all learn from our mistakes don't we.
I wanted the goodie bags to be something that people really enjoyed opening and I started reaching out to brands who would be on brand for Orlune and the girls but again, this was much harder than I thought.
Brand partnerships is big business and I worked with a team who had an excellent team so I thought I had learned enough, turns out I was wrong again.
I have never been so humbled in my life and I have done some humbling stuff, not limited to auditioning to sing for a school play when I knew I couldn't sing, falling on my butt in the middle Rome while confidently strutting around, saying "slay" in an interview, you get the picture.
Did I get that job, yes, yes I did! {insert smug emoji}
I have now managed to sort the event venue, source goodie bag contents, although I have no bags yet and have sourced a second photographer as my first one had to cancel.
What a nightmare!
I am sure there will be plenty of more hicups but I am excited to tackle them!
I have a vision of hosting events with other business owners, I reached out to the girls on TikTok and I have had a few responses, stay tuned for the following events;
Doggy pop up
Endometriosis awareness
Perfume heaven
And there are even more, if you are a business owner and want to host an event, let's do it together, picture wellness days, retreats and girls just enjoying the process of launching and running businesses.
My top tips if you are hosting an event:
- Check your budget over and over again
- It will be more than you think
- Plan ahead, people get booked up
- Prepare for cancellations
- Have backup vendors
- Build an emergency box
With this guide you can't go wrong! Or maybe you can but I am trying to help. My inbox and DMs are always open if you have any questions or want to host with me.
See you on the golf course,
